Last week we celebrated our 8th anniversary, and Craig and I would once again like to take this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who’s been a part of our journey.
Over the past 8 years we have worked with over nearly 300 of the World’s largest businesses and best-known brands, including Amazon, BUPA, Close Brothers, TikTok, Tesco, Rolls Royce, Disney, Vodafone, SKY, Burberry, PWC, KPMG, EY, Anglo American, Ocado, Tesco, Sainsbury, John Lewis, M&S, easyJet, Heathrow, Bumble, BT, HS2, Sky, BT and RTL, Girlguiding, Oxfam, Brookfield, Selfridges, BBC, RTL, Fremantle Media and Novuna, to name a few. And we’ve recruited all over the World, as far afield as North America, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, Germany, the UAE and South Korea and many other countries.
Anyone who’s familiar with our business will know we came through the challenges of Covid in really good shape and that we used those long lockdown days to launch our Tax & Treasury brand, take Audit & Risk international, further our Tech Assurance offering and recruit some experienced talent into the business. These actions (among others) resulted in topline sales growth for 2021 of over 180% (vs our 2019 performance).
Building on last year’s growth and in preparation for the next 3 years, we’ve added new skills and experience to our Board and welcome John O’Sullivan to the team as a newly appointed NED. There’s little John doesn’t know about scaling recruitment companies and he’s working with us on the next stage of our journey and helping to maximise enterprise value. John joins Mark Wilford who’s been with us as a NED for 4 years, working closely with Malcolm Zack helping us professionalise the business during our more formative years. Thank you to our NEDs.
This year we’ve also recruited 2 x experienced auditors who have decided to change careers and move into recruitment. This is a bit of a coup as (knowing the market as they do), they both decided to join us rather than any of our competitors. Dan Lovell and Tom McIvor bring new skills and experience to the business and have raised the bar in terms of knowledge and understanding which benefits everyone in the team, our candidates and our clients. Dan adds firepower to our internal audit offering and Tom supports our Big 4 and Top 10 accounting clients with their external audit recruitment requirements, another new area for us.
While celebrating the milestone that is 8 years in business, we also celebrate 8 years of continuous growth which is something the whole team here at Platform 1 Recruitment Group can be immensely proud of. On Friday the team closed out the quarter with yet another record for top line sales over a 12-month period, AND while helping a number of clients build out their SOX capabilities, the team placed a whole team of SOX contractors with one client and smashed through our quarterly ‘Platform Fun’ target, which means we all get to enjoy a long lunch at a Michelin star restaurant.
Craig and I couldn’t be prouder of what the team have achieved over the past 3 months, 12 months and 8 years, and we look forward to celebrating accordingly. Over the coming weeks Craig and I will be launching our EMI scheme which will give everyone (old, new and yet to join us), ‘skin in the game’ and be a meaningful part of the next 3 months, 12 months and 8 years of growth.
