The Audit & Risk Recruitment Company (ARRC) has been mandated to assist with sourcing an Internal Auditor for a Construction Company.

The company is looking for a highly motivated and agile Internal Auditor who is not afraid of a challenge. You’ll be a creative problem-solver who thrives operating in a complex audit environment. You’ll become a key player within the internal audit team, gaining exposure to senior colleagues.

You’ll be working as part of a small Risk and Internal Audit team, reporting to our Head of Risk and Internal Audit. 

The value this role will add:

  • Assist with the management of the audit actions tracker.

  • Demonstrate understanding of key business processes, risks and controls. Identify and test key controls.

  • Assist senior internal auditors with their internal audits (includes compliance, operational and financial). This includes witness assessments activity of laboratory tests.

  • Conduct data analysis for internal audit activity.

  • Contribute, as required, to external assessments (includes planning, preparing and involvement in the assessment).

  • Assist with the coordination of internal audit activity.

  • Attend weekly meetings to discuss the progress of audit activities and assist with completing the audit logs of activities both planned and carried out.

  • Effective project management of a varied workload including the ability to multi-task on quality work deliverables.

  • Build and maintain positive stakeholder relationships at all levels of the organisation as well as with key external stakeholders (accreditation bodies, external consultants, etc.).

  • Actively contribute to the development and continual improvement of the planning and delivery of the internal audit process.

What skills and experience does the role need?

  • Ability to identify risks and test internal controls.

  • Sound analytical, problem solving and project management skills.

  • Sound written and verbal communication skills with previous report writing experience (latter desirable).

  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to understand and digest complex concepts quickly.

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.

  • Experience in driving change and improvement with positive results.

  • Understanding UKAS or ISO standard (desired).
