The Audit and Risk Recruitment Company (ARRC) is assisting a FTSE listed organisation to recruit a Group Internal Auditor.

Your key focus will be leading in the delivery of operational based audits (as well as some financial and IT) across the organisation’s major UK hubs, and you will enjoy full ownership of the process from scoping through to reporting.  Whilst you will have the ownership, you will be working within a collaborative team and reporting into a personable and knowledgeable manager, so the help and guidance is there for you when required, particularly when assimilating into what will be a new business and likely new sector.

With the department being such a highly valued function, often it is utilised in a variety of other project based and assurance activities meaning in addition to your core end-to-end audit delivery responsibilities, you will assist in and execute advisory work in relation to business change projects, evaluate the risk and control frameworks for maturing processes, projects and programmes, and provide advice to the business regarding areas of change.

The broader work environment is warm and friendly, and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders across levels is a key aspect so a positive attitude and energetic approach will go a long way.

In terms of technical background, you will ideally be a qualified accountant or internal auditor (although this is not a must) and possess internal audit experience working within a commercial environment (manufacturing or any sector concerning a tangible product would most suited).  However, the softer skills, ability to communicate effectively, establish strong stakeholder relationships, and inject a positive approach is most important, so if this you but you are coming from an external audit background in practice, they want to hear from you.  Any data analytics or ESG experience would be a bonus too.

On average, you will be on-site 2 or 3 days per week and there is scope to travel to their key international sites in Western Europe.  Given most of the travel is UK centric though, a full driving license is required.

The business is performing very well and operates within a stable sector, for further information on this fantastic opportunity to join them, please apply now.
